Michele Merlo was born in Cortina d’Ampezzo. After he spent about ten years in Florence studing architecture, photography, computer graphics and history, he comes back to Cortina d’Ampezzo in 2001 called there by architect Edoardo Gellner and with him he works four years at some project about the restoration of ENI Corte di Cadore Childrens Camp buildings in a Congress Hotel with SpA, about a master plan for ENI Corte di Cadore Village, about the realizzation of three books on Gellner’s works. In 2005 he founded studio_gellner architecture office. He likes to play in his works with the space, the forms and the lights, to make simple the complexity of contents. He is married and he has a little boy.
